According to NIMH & NAMI research:

  • 73% of students experience some sort of mental health crisis during college

  • 92% of female students report feeling frequently overwhelmed or anxious

  • Female students are more likely to experience eating disorders, depression, and PTSD

  • Only 25% of students with a mental health issue seek help or know where to get it

  • Most campuses have severely limited counselor support with a counselor to student ratio of 1:3000

71% of college students say they’d use tele-mental health services at their school if they had access. Unfortunately, most schools don’t. That’s where The Self Care Space comes in.

How It Works

The Self Care Space partners with your chapter or organization to give access to a safe space for women to get professional and community-based support with their mental health.

Our platform is accessible on desktop and mobile app, and we have the ability to create a private group just for members of your organization within the app as well.

It is designed to meet members where they’re at with a variety of options to participate in including self-guided therapy programming, group therapy sessions, emergency toolboxes, live monthly workshops, and discussion feeds.

Self-guided Therapy Programs

This allows members to choose the topics most relevant to their lives and take it at their own pace. Each module includes videos, therapeutic exercises, journal prompts, & holistic resources like meditation and breathwork. Over 24 topics and modules with more added quarterly.

Emergency Toolboxes

These help to address in-the-moment mental health concerns such as managing anxiety, dealing with a bad body image day, healing from loss & grief, navigating breakups, sleep support, and more. We provide evidence-based resources to support members through tough times.

Accountability Challenges

We make self-care fun and encourage commitment to healthy habits with our monthly accountability challenges. These allow women to connect over a common goal and support each other along the way, while being rewarded with fun & empowering prizes!

Group Therapy & Coaching Sessions

This is where connection and accountability come in. Every month our members have the option to attend a free group therapy & coaching session where they can get their questions answered with professional advice & feedback. These sessions also help women feel less alone.

Live Workshops with Experts

Working with one specialist is expensive, let alone getting support for multiple issues. So we bring them all into one place. Our expert therapists, psychologists, and holistic practitioners offer live workshops each month for members to gain new perspectives & life skills to support their growth.

Access To 1:1 Counselor Support

Sometimes you just need a little extra support during different seasons of life. A huge benefit of our membership is access to affordable counseling in all 50 states, without lengthy waitlists or dealing with insurance. Members can choose the right provider for them and book a session whenever they need it.

Meet The Team

Our founder, Megan Sherer, is a licensed holistic therapist with a passion for empowering women with the tools to live their most fulfilled lives. She has over 10 years experience in private practice, youth-focused nonprofit work, and public speaking in the mental health space.

Megan created The Self Care Space in response to a need that she saw for more affordable mental health resources and a safe community for women to gather and heal.

We brought together an expert Advisory Board including over 20 psychologists, therapists, counselors, coaches, and holistic practitioners. They all bring diverse backgrounds and perspectives but share the same vision: helping young women heal, learn and grow.

 FAQs

  • The Self Care Space is a safe place for women to get access to mental health resources. Women of any age can join individually (although we cater mostly to young women). We offer special group rates and customized offerings for sororities & collegiate organizations to make these resources accessible to their members.

  • With over 24+ modules, 80+ workshop recordings, and more added each month, our program is designed to meet each woman where she is at. Our platform addresses the common concerns and areas of interest for young women including body image, self-talk, interpersonal relationships, communication, organizational skills, how social media impacts mental health, academic anxiety, and more. Additional tools include journal prompts, CBT-based exercises, guided meditations, breath-work, yoga, somatic healing practices, and sound therapy.

  • The investment in this mental health platform is dependent on the size of your organization. We strive to create affordable custom offerings that will work for you.   • Our founder, Megan, has 10+ years of experience in speaking and leading workshops with young women. She is available to come speak in person and virtually to your members to enhance the benefits of this program.
